In 2017, Port of Akureyri signed an agreement with Eyjafjordur Forestry Association to plant 2,000 trees every cruise season. In addition, passengers arriving at Port of Akureyri’s ports can, for only €2, contribute directly to the cause and have a tree planted in their name.
